BLUR REUNION WAS SETTLED OVER CAKE

Feuding BLUR bandmates DAMON ALBARN and GRAHAM COXON settled their differences over tea and cake.
The Britpop pioneers took a hiatus in 2003, after guitarist Coxon quit during the recording of their Think Tank album, and the guitarist admits his relationship with singer Albarn rapidly deteriorated after he walked out - at one point the pair's only communication was made via their attorneys.
But the star resolved to make peace with his former friend last year (08) and the meeting that followed paved the way for the band's recent reunion, which will see them play a string of comeback gigs over the summer (09).
And Coxon reveals the pair put aside their issues over afternoon tea.
He says, "Damon and I settled our differences over an Eccles cake. The biggest doubt surrounding a Blur reunion was whether Damon and I would get on. A lot of nastiness had gone on between us.
"After I left the band I kept in touch with the others but Damon and I only communicated through lawyers.
"In October 2008 I turned up at one of his gigs. There was no guarantee we'd get on. But we went for a walk, had the cake and some tea and realised everything was OK between us.
"After half an hour of chat we knew a reunion was a strong possibility. We all realise that what's important in life is being nice to your mates."
