BLUES STAR WALKER DIES

R+B star CLARENCE 'TEX' WALKER has died. He was 61. The singer died four days after suffering a heart attack at his home in Oxfordshire, England, on 8 August. Walker played a major role in the American music scene in the 60s, 70s and 80s and was best known as the lead singer with Bill Pinkney's Original Drifters and The Coasters. Walker had returned to the U.K. this year (07) after being treated for heart problems in the U.S.
