BLUES BROTHERS MASTERMIND DIES
The man who helped turn DAN AYKROYD and JOHN BELUSHI's BLUES BROTHERS act into a success has died. He was 62.
Music executive Michael Klenfner died on Tuesday (14Jul09) from complications of congestive heart failure, according to his daughter Kate.
Klenfner worked at Atlantic Records when he transformed the Blues Brothers, which appeared on Saturday Night Live in the 1970s, into a Grammy-nominated music act.
He pushed the pair to the top of the U.S. charts with tracks including Rubber Biscuit and Soul Man.
He also worked with Cher on her comeback mega-hit Believe.
Klenfner's funeral service will be held on Friday (17Jul09) and, in lieu of flowers, his family are requesting donations be made in the music mogul's name to the American Heart Association.
