BLOCKHEADS SNUBBED SOUL MAN SAM MOORE
Late, great punk icon IAN DURY's backing band THE BLOCKHEADS have found a new replacement for their beloved frontman - after snubbing soul man SAM MOORE.
The group have been touring with funnyman Phill Jupitus and a host of guest singers since Dury's death in 2000, but now the late singer's old pal Derek 'The Draw' Hussey has joined the band for a new album and 2009 tour.
This comes after years spent trying to find a new Blockheads frontman, which took the band to America.
Band member Mick Gallagher says, "After Ian died we tried using real singers. Sam Moore was one. It didn't work."
