BLOC PARTY'S KELE: WE DID SOMETHING RIGHT ON ALBUM THREE

Kele Okereke says he is proud of the third album Bloc Party album as he is still capable of listening to it.

The lead singer explained that with his band's releases, he has begun to 'hate' the record by the time the four-piece went on tour to promote it.

But with Intimacy - which the band released online in August - Okereke is still enjoying performing.

"With our previous releases, with Silent Alarm and A Weekend In The City, by this point into the campaign I'd already started to hate the music," he told BBC Newsbeat.

"Whereas this time round I don't hate the music – we did something right."

The 27-year-old went on to say that the rigours of touring had resulted in a marked change in the way he experiences new music.

"I don't listen to albums much any more - I don't sit down and listen to records as much as I used to," he revealed.

"It's patience - it just wears thin. I just have no patience. The way that I listen to music now, because of what we do, it's very critical - I listen to something obsessively for like a week and then I never listen to it ever again.

"That's why singles are good because there's no context, it's just a song."

Bloc Party's first UK tour since December 2007 will begin in Glasgow on January 25th 2009.
