BLOC PARTY 'UNCONCERNED WITH HITS'
BLOC PARTY have claimed that scoring a hit single is no longer of any importance to them.
Bassist Gordon Lissack has even suggested that the band may stop releasing singles in the future and just concentrate on album work.
The band released their third album INTIMACY yesterday, following its release in download form on August 21st.
While the album was not eligible for the top 40 charts in download form, the physical release may see it enter the top ten.
However, Lissack said that this was not really a priority for the band as it had not been "a business decision".
"I don't think our digital release was eligible so this is our only shot at the charts but the kind of band we are, isn't one you were going to see on Top Of The Pops really," he told BBC 6 Music.
"Music was never a competition, who ever made it a competition?" he added.
