BLIGE TOOK ACTING LESSONS TO PERFECT PERRY PART
MARY J. BLIGE was so nervous about her first film role in TYLER PERRY's I CAN DO BAD ALL BY MYSELF she took acting classes to make sure she wouldn't mess up on camera.
The writer/director wrote the part with Blige in mind and even asked her to come up with the film's theme, which her character sings in the movie.
Blige says, "I went and got an acting coach and it helped a lot."
The R&B superstar plays the tough-talking best friend of the film's star Taraji P. Henson - and admits the role wasn't too much of a stretch: "I am a good friend; when I love you I love you hard."
