BLAKE FIELDER-CIVIL HAS APPEAL REJECTED

Amy Winehouse's husband has had his appeal against his conviction for assault and perverting the course of justice rejected.

Blake Fielder-Civil, 26, was jailed for 27 months earlier this year after being found guilty of grievous bodily harm and perverting the course of justice.

After serving less than half of his sentence, he left jail earlier this month to be admitted to a rehabilitation clinic in Surrey - reportedly the same facility in which Rolling Stone Ronnie Wood was treated earlier this year.

Two judges heard Fielder-Civil's case in the court of appeal this morning and have rejected the former television runner's attempt to have his sentence reduced.

He was arrested last November in connection with a "vicious" attack upon an east London pub landlord in the summer of 2006.

Fielder-Civil and his friend Michael Brown, 40, Holloway, were sentenced at Snaresbrook crown court in July after admitting charges over the attack upon Jamie King, 36, the owner of the Macbeths pub in Hoxton.

Following the attack the pair, along with Anthony Kelly and James Kennedy, tried to bribe Mr King with £200,000 and the promise of a holiday in Spain if he stopped the case from going to court.
