BLACK EYED PEAS SEE OFF BOOS WITH JACKSON HITS

The BLACK EYED PEAS pulled back a potentially disastrous slot at legendary music festival Glastonbury by playing a collection of MICHAEL JACKSON's greatest hits.
The pop foursome headlined the U.K. music event's Jazz World stage on Sunday night (28Jun09).
But the crowd turned nasty when the group first stepped up to the mic and frontman will.i.am shouted out, "Hello London!". The festival is based in south-west England - more than two hours drive from the British capital.
And despite attracting a loud chorus of boos, the singer/rapper managed to pull the show back from the brink by hitting the decks and playing a set dedicated to the late pop superstar - including Don't Stop Til You Get Enough and Thriller.
will.i.am, who was recording new tracks with Jackson shortly before his death on Thursday (25Jun09), told the crowd, "Michael Jackson was like the biggest inspiration of my life. He was a friend and we're gonna miss him very much. Thank you very much for all you've done, I'm gonna miss you."
