BLACK EYED PEAS SCORE HALF A YEAR AT THE TOP OF THE U.S. CHARTS
The BLACK EYED PEAS have scored a 14th week at the top of the U.S. charts with I GOTTA FEELING, matching MARIAH CAREY's record for the longest single run at the top of the Billboard countdown.
But the group has landed an even bigger prize, becoming the first act to spend half a year at number one with consecutive hits. I Gotta Feeling ended the Peas' 12-week run at number one with Boom Boom Pow.
Only Usher has managed to get close to the half-year record and it took him four hits over 26 non-consecutive weeks in 2004.
Meanwhile, country star Carrie Underwood makes a huge leap from 96 to 11 on the new chart with Cowboy Casanova, while Alicia Keys scores the new chart's highest debut with Doesn't Mean Anything at 61.
