BILL GRAHAM'S HIDDEN HOARD OF ROCK TO BE RELEASED
The world's largest independent archive of rock and pop memorabilia, including rare footage of JIMI HENDRIX and MADONNA, is to be opened up for the first time. Legendary US concert promoter BILL GRAHAM started his collection in 1966 and stashed it in an underground basement in San Francisco, California, where it languished for more than 10 years after his death in 1991. The archive contains recordings and films of up to 100,000 songs by legendary acts such as LED ZEPPELIN and ELVIS COSTELLO and features SIR ELTON JOHN singing his 1970 ballad YOUR SONG. BILL SAGAN, the current owner, is in negotiation with artists' lawyers to secure permission to publish the material.
