Big Brother will shake up the contest this Friday by adding six new housemates after the live eviction.

In an announcement made on Big Brother's official website, it emerged that a mix of men and women would be added during Friday's live show.

However, the addition of the new housemates is more complicated than first thought.

Only one of the new additions will become a fully-fledged housemate after the "usual twists and turns", according to the announcement.

Existing contestants Charley and Tracey have been nominated for eviction this week, with Charley the favourite to go.

The opinionated housemate was evicted in a previous 'fake eviction' but was put straight back into the house, much to the surprise of the other contestants.

A series of big rows between Charley and some of her fellow housemates, such as Brian and Ziggy, have been a constant theme throughout the new series.

This week's live show gets underway on Channel 4 on Friday at 20:00 BST and then again at 22:00 BST.
