BEYONCE AND U2 TO PLAY AT OBAMA INAUGURATION PARTY
Beyonce, U2 and Stevie Wonder are among the stars signed up to perform at US president-elect Barack Obama's inauguration party.
Bruce Springsteen, Usher and Mary J Blige are also confirmed for the event due to take place on Sunday, two days before Mr Obama is sworn in as the 44th American president.
The artists are expected to perform a series of classic songs at the Lincoln Memorial on Washington to mark the occasion rather than their own hits.
"The list of stars is impressive, but this is not a showbiz, glitzy occasion," the show's executive producer, George Stevens Jr, told the Associated Press news agency.
"It's going to be rooted in history, remembering the great president [Lincoln] who led us through difficult times."
The show is set to be broadcast on MTV.
