BEVERLY HILLS CHIHUAHUA BOSS LANDS SMURFS MOVIE
RAJA GOSNELL, the man who let the dogs out in hit 2008 movie BEVERLY HILLS CHIHUAHUA, has been given the job of revamping Belgium's biggest toy export, THE SMURFS.
Gosnell will direct the upcoming live-action/animated movie, Smurfs, which is set to hit cinemas over Christmas 2010.
The little blue characters sparked a worldwide collecting trend in the early 1980s after cartoons based on the Pierre Culliford creations became a big hit on TV.
The Smurfs also enjoyed chart success with their human leader Father Abraham.
Belgian cartoonist Culliford, aka Peyo, created The Smurfs in the late 1950s.
