BENNETT TO CELEBRATE 80TH BIRTHDAY WITH TV BASH
US network NBC will salute singing legend TONY BENNETT with an 80th birthday bash this autumn (06). TONY BENNETT: AN AMERICAN CLASSIC, will be produced and directed by CHICAGO's Academy Award-winning director ROB MARSHALL. The hour-long special will be a musical retrospective of the singer's life. SIR ELTON JOHN, STEVIE WONDER, JOHN LEGEND and K.D. LANG are set to perform. Bennett is also releasing an album of duets to celebrate his birthday, teaming up with stars such as STING, BONO and BARBRA STREISAND.
