BENJAMIN BUTTON TOPS UK BOX OFFICE
The Curious Case of Benjamin Button has gone straight to the top of the UK box office after its first weekend on general release.
The David Fincher film starring Brad Pitt and Cate Blanchett took £2.2 million last weekend, out performing rom-com He's Just Not That Into You, which took £1.9 million.
Benjamin Button was nominated for 11 awards at Sunday's Baftas but won only three. It has also leading the way in terms of Oscar nominations with 13.
Its main competitor is Danny Boyle's Slumdog Millionaire, which fell to third at the UK box office last weekend.
The film, set in Mumbai, took £1.6 million, almost a million pounds more than Tom Cruise's Valkyrie.
Revolutionary Road, starring Oscar nominated Kate Winslet and Leonardo DiCaprio made up the top five after taking just over £500,000.
