BENICASSIM CONCLUDES WITH MUSE

Muse closed this year's Benicassim festival with a raucous set into the early hours after a weekend jam-packed with UK acts.

In a show which included tracks from their expansive back catalogue, the band followed on from Kings of Leon in typically spectacular fashion.

The Spanish festival gave itself over to the Arctic Monkeys on Saturday night as the Sheffield band tore through hits from their two albums.

Alex Turner and co kicked off with debut album opener The View From the Afternoon before concluding with When the Sun Goes Down, 505 and fan favourite A Certain Romance.

Amy Winehouse also performed at the event after cancelling a number of concerts in recent weeks citing exhaustion.

The bluesy crooner performed her hit singles Back to Black, Rehab and You Know I'm No Good.

This year's Benicassim was once again dominated by UK bands as well as some legendary acts.

Iggy and the Stooges hosted their customary stage invasion on Friday, 'inviting' members of the audience to "take over".

Also playing at the event were Rufus Wainwright, the Hives, Jamie T and Albert Hammond Jr.
