BEENIE MAN IS A WANTED MAN

An arrest warrant has been issued for reggae star BEENIE MAN after he failed to turn up in court to answer tax evasion charges. The singer - real name Anthony Moses Davis - was scheduled to appear in court in Jamaica on Monday (22Oct07) to explain how he planned to pay 10 years worth of unpaid taxes. Annoyed Judge Owen Parkins said, "This case is well-publicised and he should have been in court. No one is above the law." Beenie Man owes the Jamaican revenue department $415,000 (GBP207,500) and a further $246,000 (GBP123,000) in penalties. He claims he was unaware he owed the money, and blamed his business managers for the slip-up.
