BECKHAMS NAMED SON AFTER CRUISE

DAVID and VICTORIA BECKHAM have confirmed their youngest son was named after their Hollywood pal TOM CRUISE.
Soccer star David and his singer-turned-fashion-designer wife share three boys - Brooklyn, 10, Romeo, six, and Cruz, four - and have been close friends with the Top Gun star and his actress wife Katie Holmes since they met in 2003.
The sports ace - who resided in Spain from 2003 to 2007 when he played for soccer club Real Madrid - tells The Beckham Experiment author Grant Wahl how he conjured up his youngest son's trendy moniker.
He tells Wahl, "I must admit, when (Victoria and I) met Tom, I remember turning around to Victoria and saying, 'Cruise is a great name, but we could spell it different.' And also, living in Spain, Cruz is spelled the way it is in Spanish. So that's why we got it."
