BEATLES TAPE SELLS FOR $23,000

LATEST: A newly-discovered tape featuring THE BEATLES laughing in the studio has sold at auction for $23,000 (GBP11,500).
The lost 1964 reel-to-reel, which was discovered in an attic, was expected to fetch $16,000 (GBP8,000) when it went under the hammer at Cameo Auctioneers in Berkshire, England on Tuesday (05Aug08).
An Internet bidder bought the tape, which features John Lennon and Paul MCCartney struggling to record I'll Follow The Sun amid a fit of the giggles.
The recording also features studio performances and Beatles chatter.
