BEATLES PRODUCER MARTIN RECOVERING AFTER OP

Famed BEATLES producer SIR GEORGE MARTIN is recovering after undergoing surgery in London.
The recording studio pioneer, credited with shaping the Fab Four's sound, had a "routine" operation earlier this week (begs19Oct09) and has since returned home after one night in hospital.
Early reports suggested the procedure was for a heart problem, but a spokesman declined to give details.
Manager Adam Sharp says, "George Martin had routine surgery earlier this week. He spent one night in hospital and is now back at home."
Sir George, 83, was dubbed the "Fifth Beatle" for his huge contribution to the legendary group's recording sessions at Abbey Road studios in London in the 1960s.
