BBC DENIES PLAN TO AXE CHRIS MOYLES
The BBC has denied reports Chris Moyles is to be sacked from the Radio 1 breakfast show.
The Sun reported the DJ, who is set to break Tony Blackburn's record as the longest-running host of the prestigious slot, is set to be axed.
According to a source quoted by the newspaper, "patience was beginning to run out," at the BBC after the star made several controversial comments.
But the broadcaster has rejected the allegations.
A spokesperson told the paper there were "no plans to take Chris off the breakfast show".
"He has a hugely successful show with over seven million listeners, and he added more listeners in the last Rajar figures," a statement said.
The star caused controversy this year with a joke about Auschwitz, and the use of the word 'gay' as an insult.
The Sun claims Moyles will be replaced in a reshuffle, which will introduce a "new generation of stars".
The £630,000-a-year star brought back a million listeners after taking over from Sara Cox in 2004, and now regularly draws in seven million fans.
