BASSEY'S BACK AFTER GYM ENCOUNTER WITH SONGWRITERS

SHIRLEY BASSEY is planning a pop chart comeback with two singer/songwriters who tracked her down in a Monte Carlo gym and asked her to consider adding her vocals to their tunes. The 70 year old was working out when NEVER THE BRIDE duo CATHERINE FEENEY and NIKKI LAMBORN handed her a demo and urged her to listen to one track in particular. Bassey listened to the tune, THE LIVING TREE, and liked it - and now she's recording it as her next single on Feeney and Lamborn's Lock Stock + Barrel record label. The track will be released in Britain later this month, prior to a new album of Bassey remixes, including her versions of GRACE JONES' SLAVE TO THE RHYTHM and GLORIA GAYNOR's disco anthem I WILL SURVIVE.
