DAME SHIRLEY BASSEY has made her first public appearance since a stomach operation earlier this year (08).
The Big Spender singer, 71, underwent emergency surgery in Monaco, France after suffering from abdominal pains in May (08).
Bassey was so ill she was forced to pull out of Nelson Mandela's 90th birthday concert in London in June (08).
But the star made a surprise appearance at the London Fashion Week event on Tuesday (16Sep08) in support of designer pal Julien MACdonald.
She says, "I'm here because Julien is not only a fellow countryman, he is a good friend."
