BARRY WILLIAMS HONOURED BY U.S. AIR FORCE
BRADY BUNCH star BARRY WILLIAMS has been appointed an honourary member of the American Air Force in recognition of his continued support of the military.
The 53-year old almost followed his father into a career in the armed forces, before finding fame as the eldest of three brothers in the famed American TV show.
Williams was awarded a place in the Fourth Fighter Wing's 335th Fighter Squadron on Friday (12Oct07) and was given a ride in one of their jets.
He says, "It was the most exciting experience of my life. It was a great honour. For me, that was a joy ride. For them, that is their office. And when they go up, they are not playing.
"Appreciation is one word that comes to mind. Gratitude is another. It was just great."
After the ceremony, Williams posed for pictures with airmen, their spouses and children, and thanked them for their service.
