BARROWMAN'S BID TO SAVE THEATRE
Actor JOHN BARROWMAN has taken on the role of Robin Hood in a Christmas (09) pantomime - in a bid to save his local theatre from closure.
The star of cult sci-fi TV show Doctor Who and Torchwood has turned real-life hero in a bid to revive the fortunes of Cardiff's New Theatre in Wales.
More than 35,000 tickets have been sold to fans eager to see Barrowman, who will star in the show twice-daily over the Christmas and New Year period.
A spokesperson for the theatre says, "John saves the world in Torchwood, now we hope he can save our theatre."
