BARRETT TRIBUTE GIG
Rock legends PINK FLOYD are planning to reform for a memorial gig in honour of late former frontman SYD BARRETT, who died earlier this month (JUL06). The group, ROGER WATERS, DAVID GILMOUR, RICK WRIGHT and NICK MASON, performed at LIVE 8 last year (05), for the first time in 24 years, but have since dismissed talk of another reunion. But sources claim they are prepared to patch up their differences for the sake of Barrett - who left Pink Floyd in 1968 after suffering a LSD-induced breakdown. A friend tells British newspaper The Daily Telegraph, "They didn't want to let Syd go without a huge send-off." A spokesperson for the band has refused to comment.
