BARNES RECOVERING FROM HEART SURGERY
Australian rocker JIMMY BARNES is recovering in hospital in Sydney after undergoing heart surgery.
The CHANGE OF HEART singer had open-heart surgery on Thursday (22FEB07) to fix a faulty aortic valve, which he has had since birth.
The defiant rock star has booked concerts in April (07) to give himself a goal during his recovery.

Hi Jimmy, I had the same surgery 22 years ago this month. I had a birth defect
that was not discovered until then. I am now 70 years old. I am on Warfarin
that is monitored. I was told that my short-term memory problems are due to the
operation. I have always been very active and the Doc told me I was the
healthiest, sickest patient he had. The oparation has not affected my
lifestyle. I still make timber products in my workshop.
