BARLOW: 'I REJOINED DINO JR TO FINISH WHAT I STARTED'
DINOSAUR JR rocker LOU BARLOW is pleased the original line-up of the US band has reunited after nearly 20 years, because they can now end things amicably.
Barlow quit Dinosaur Jr following the 1988 album BUG, leaving frontman J MASCIS to continue without him until the group folded in 1997.
The reunited trio - also including drummer MURPH - release new album BEYOND next month (MAY07), and Barlow admits Mascis' motivation for the comeback is different to his own.
He says, "The way I left the band was very sad. I came back because I wanted to rewrite the ending and turn it into something positive. And I think we've managed to do that.
"As far as J was concerned, the main motivating factor was money."
He adds, "J doesn't say anything directly, he only speaks through his manager. It's weird, but it's part of the comedy."
