BARKER HAS HAND SURGERY TO CORRECT PLANE CRASH NERVE DAMAGE
BLINK-182 star TRAVIS BARKER is still suffering nerve damage from the plane crash he survived last September (08).The drummer and bandmate Adam 'DJ AM' Goldstein were the only survivors when the Lear jet they were travelling on from South Carolina to Los Angeles crashed on take-off.
Both were treated for second and third-degree burns in the weeks following the tragedy - and Barker admits he's still not 100 per cent healthy.
The drummer's arm was in a sling as he attended the Grammy Awards on Sunday (08Feb09) and he explains he's still in pain.
He tells U.S. news show Extra, "I kind of rushed out of the hospital and my hand was numb, but I didn’t tell anybody. I just wanted to get out. The numbness didn’t go away. It was like in four or five of my fingers.
"I really wanted to fix it as soon as possible. I had bad nerve damage, so I just got surgery. I have eight to 10 weeks to recover."
