BARDEN BEATS DAY-LEWIS TO TOP CATCHPHRASE SURVEY

JAVIER BARDEM's menacing NO COUNTRY FOR OLD MEN line "Call it, friendo" has topped an annual survey by terminology trend organisation Global Language Monitor (GLM). Bardem's memorable coin-tossing catchphrase beat out competition from Daniel Day-Lewis' "I drink your milkshake" from There Will Be Blood, which landed at two in GLM's annual HollyWORD survey. Bardem's No Country For Old Men performance won him the Best Supporting Actor Oscar last month (Feb08), while Day-Lewis' turn in There Will Be Blood earned him his second Academy Award for Best Actor. At three in the survey are numerous phrases from teen pregnancy film Juno, for which writer Diablo Cody won the Best Original Screenplay Oscar.
