BARAT VOWS TO BEAT ALCOHOL ADDICTION AFTER HOSPITAL STAY

DIRTY PRETTY THINGS frontman CARL BARAT has vowed to battle his alcohol demons after he was diagnosed with acute pancreatitis.
The British rocker was admitted to a clinic last month (17Jun08) suffering from severe stomach pains.
And Barat was so scared by his symptoms, he is now determined to beat his alcohol addiction.
He says, "It was scary. I was in constant pain. But it has tested me and given me more time to think. Mornings are a lot easier. I can think things through properly."
And Barat has sought help from former addict Russell Brand.
He says, "The two of us will have to get together for a sober night out. Russell sips water. But I have to have Diet Coke."
