BARAT STRUGGLING WITH SOBRIETY

British rocker CARL BARAT is struggling with his new found sobriety less than two weeks after giving up alcohol. The DIRTY PRETTY THINGS frontman - who sacked PETE DOHERTY from THE LIBERTINES because of his drug addictions - is surprised at how different and difficult performing concerts sober is. He says, "I've given up drinking for two weeks now and it's been pretty miserable. When you're sober everyone leers at you and repeats themselves. "But these are my first sober gigs in 10 years. It was quite inspiring."

I'm so happy to hear that Carl is trying to get himself on track. I'm sure it will be extremely difficult for him but hopefully the support of his bandmates, friends, family and fans will help him pull through. We're all rooting for you Carl!
