BARAT DISMISSES LIBERTINES REUNION REPORTS

British rocker CARL BARAT has dismissed reports THE LIBERTINES are to reform, after performing with his former bandmate PETE DOHERTY last week (12Apr07). The Dirty Pretty Things frontman was a surprise guest at troubled singer Doherty's gig London's Hackney Empire on Thursday. However, Barat insists fans shouldn't get too excited, because The Libertines remain firmly in the past. He says, "Are they any plans for any more reunions? Not really. "I'm really into the new stuff I'm writing."
