BARAT DISMISSES DOHERTY REUNION REPORTS
LATEST: CARL BARAT has rubbished reports he's reuniting with his former THE LIBERTINES bandmate PETE DOHERTY, insisting they even recorded their parts on a charity single separately. The rockers were asked to appear on a cover of THE CLASH song JANIE JONES, alongside THE KOOKS star LUKE PRITCHARD, to raise money for late Clash frontman JOE STRUMMER's music charity Strummerville. Although Doherty and Barat - who now front BABYSHAMBLES and DIRTY PRETTY THINGS respectively - agreed to the project, they successfully managed to avoid each other. Barat says, "Am I recording for Strummerville? Yeah, I've done that already. "This fella just popped round with his computer and said, 'Sing onto this,' and then he was gone. Pete's on it, loads of bands are on it. "I haven't heard it yet. It's one of those things in passing."
