BANNER TREATS UNDERPRIVILEGED KIDS TO A DAY OUT
Rapper DAVID BANNER showed his charitable side on Friday (20Jul07) - he treated 80 children to a trip to an American theme park.
The Like A Pimp hitmaker sent the underprivileged teens, from his native Jackson, Mississippi, on an all-expenses-paid outing to Six Flags in Georgia through the Stewpot Neighborhood Children's programme.
Sherry Adams, the programme's community services counsellor, says, "The children that we serve at Stewpot would not normally be able to go on an 'out of town' trip. Most of the kids in the community have not been out of Mississippi.
"Because of Banner's love for our community, he makes it possible for our kids to travel outside of Mississippi, on a fun and exciting summer trip every year. David made is all possible because these kids don't have to pay a dime."
The hip-hop star and philanthropist has treated 200 youths with free days out since he began donating to the Stewpot Neighborhood Children's programme in 2005.
