BAND SPLIT LEFT ELLIS BEXTOR 'CLOSE TO ANOREXIA'
British pop star SOPHIE ELLIS BEXTOR was left so traumatised after the split of her first band, she came close to developing an eating disorder.
The singer, who found fame as lead singer with Theaudience from 1997, was devastated when the group parted ways two years later in 1999, and sought solace in food.
She says, "I felt like my life wasn't going to plan, so I focused on being disciplined with meals.
"It was a desire to control something, rather than a desire to be slim. I didn't feel I could control anything else that was going on at the time.
"(But) thankfully, I haven't got the willpower to have an eating disorder."
