BALL TO PLAY EDNA IN LONDON'S HAIRSPRAY

British singer/actor MICHAEL BALL is set to jump into JOHN TRAVOLTA's dress after signing on to play EDNA TURNBLAD in the West End, London premiere of stage musical HAIRSPRAY. The Aspects Of Love star will take on the cross-dressing role when Hairspray opens at the Shaftesbury Theatre on 11 October (07). Funnyman Mel Smith will play Ball's onstage husband, Wilbur - a role portrayed by Christopher Walken in the acclaimed new Hairspray movie.
