BALE LOVED 'CHAOTIC' FILMING WITH GERMAN DIRECTOR

CHRISTIAN BALE loved filming RESCUE DAWN with experimental director WERNER HERZOG, even though half the film's crew walked out because of the treacherous jungle location. The BATMAN actor insists he wasn't put off by the dangerous Thailand set or Herzog's off-beat directing style. He tells the New York Daily News, "We were in a jungle in Thailand, and would find ourselves many mornings with half the movie's crew gone. So everybody took on different jobs to get by for a few days. Half the bloody crew walked out, and we just kept going! "But there were toenails being extracted and people being washed down rapids half-drowning, and at one point I had to pick up live snakes in the middle of a river. "You know, it didn't disappoint."
