BADU'S DIGITAL COMEBACK
R+B star ERYKAH BADU credits the internet with inspiring her latest album - insisting she would never have finished it if she hadn't gone online.
After returning to work following the 2004 birth of her daughter Puma, Badu suffered a bout of writer's block and struggled to find inspiration.
She says, "I kind of got up out of the bed, got in the world again, and started to record, but it wouldn't come. I thought I had lost my creative net."
But internet collaborations with musician pals saved her career: "For some reason something woke up in me in 2007, and it came through by way of the digital world. My homies would instant message me and iChat me and say, 'Come on E, we got a track for you.' And they would send me these tracks.
"I claim to be an analogue girl, so I'm in this new world, invading its space."
