Miley Cyrus has been voted Worst Celebrity Influence ahead of Britney Spears and Kanye West.

The 'See You Again' singer scooped almost half of votes cast thanks to her controversial behaviour which included appearing in racy photos published in Vanity Fair magazine, dancing with a stripper pole during this year's Teen Choice Awards, and seemingly grabbing her crotch during a concert in Chicago on Tuesday (27.10.09).

Stephanie Cohen, editor of teen website Just So You Know (JSYK), who commissioned the poll, said: "Miley is in this transitional period where she's trying to shed the 'Hannah Montana' image. Some of her fans just don't want her to grow up."

Close behind in the survey were Britney Spears and Kanye West, who were voted second and third worst influence respectively.

Making up the rest of the top five were 'High School Musical' actress Vanessa Hudgens and 'Transformers' actor Shia LaBeouf.

Also in surveys carried out by the website, 'Wizards of Waverly Place' actress Selena Gomez, 17, was named the Best Celebrity Influence, narrowly beating singers Taylor Swift and Nick Jonas.

Kanye and Taylor were awarded Most Shocking Moment 2009 for their infamous MTV Video Music Awards (VMA) incident where the 'Stronger' rapper stormed the stage and ruined Taylor's acceptance speech.
