BABY FACING TRIAL FOR DRUG CHARGE

Hip-hop mogul BRYAN 'BABY' WILLIAMS will stand trial in October (08) on drug possession charges.
The rapper - also known as Birdman - appeared in court for a preliminary hearing in Kingsport, Tennessee on Tuesday (29Jul08), where he entered a not guilty plea.
The charges date back to a November 2007 incident, when police pulled over his recreational vehicle (RV) for making an improper lane change.
A subsequent search of the vehicle turned up a pound (453 grams) of marijuana, in addition to a number of guns.
Williams was arrested along with his brother Ronald 'Slim' Williams and 14 others. They were all charged with possession of more than half a pound (226 grams) of the drug.
The Cash Money Records CEO and Lil Wayne's mentor has since admitted to being in possession of some pot, but insists it was not a pound.
Three other defendants facing the same drug possession count failed to turn up for the hearing and bench warrants were immediately issued for their arrests, reports AllHipHop.com.
