AUTHORITIES SEIZE $1.2 MILLION IN DRUGS AT PHISH CONCERTS
PHISH's recent return to the stage was marred as authorities seized around $1.2 million (£870,000) in illegal drugs from fans.
Over 75,000 revellers came to see the reformed rockers' comeback following a five-year hiatus at three shows at the Hampton Coliseum in Virginia beginning Friday (06Mar09).
But authorities at the event were forced to take action as attendees partook in illegal drug use, arresting over 194 people for drug possession, use and distribution and confiscating approximately $1.2 million (£870,000) in narcotics.
Phish themselves paid for the 200 officers who patrolled the event.
