ASTBURY: 'RIDERS ON THE STORM INSPIRED ME TO REFORM THE CULT'

Rocker IAN ASTBURY became so inspired working on THE DOORS offshoot band RIDERS OF THE STORM, he decided to reform his 1980s group, THE CULT. The star learned valuable lessons from ex The Doors stars Ray Manzarek and Robbie Krieger. He says, "That really led me to think, 'Wait a minute. I thought I knew everything about performance. I know squat about performance.' "I just really felt I had something to say, really had some strong material, and I felt the best possible place for this was The Cult. The Cult split in 1995 after 14 years together but reunited earlier this year (07).
