ASHCROFT VOWS TO STAY SOLO
THE VERVE frontman RICHARD ASHCROFT has vowed to continue with his solo career - despite recently reforming the rock band.
The Bitter Sweet Symphony hitmakers first split in 1995, before reuniting briefly in 1996, and then reforming again in 1997.
They staged their latest comeback this year (08) to play a series of live dates and release a new album.
But Ashcroft insists the reunion will not be permanent.
He says, "I will continue my solo stuff. But it seemed a shame to leave this thing dormant when there is so much talent there."
