ASH BLAST FORMER BANDMATE

Irish rockers ASH axed their bassist CHARLOTTE HATHERLEY because she wasn't taking the band seriously enough. Hatherley left the band last year (06), and it was thought she left amicably to pursue a solo career. However, frontman Tim Wheeler insists they let her go because her heart wasn't with the band anymore. He says, "It was our decision for her to go. She wanted the best of both worlds - to be a solo artist and to be in a band. "I could tell her heart wasn't in it and it made things awkward between us."
