ARTIST INSPIRES COLDPLAY ALBUM
COLDPLAY's new album title VIVA LA VIDA has been inspired by Mexican artist Frida Kahlo.
Front man CHRIS MARTIN chose the title after seeing the phrase, which means long live life, on one of Kahlo's famous paintings, reports Rolling Stone magazine.
"She went through a lot of s***, of course, and then she started a big painting in her house that said 'Viva la Vida'," Martin explained to the publication.
"I just loved the boldness of it."
However, Martin admitted that many people think that the title has another inspiration RICKY MARTIN, who released the hit song LIVING LA VIDA LOCA.
The Spanish influence on the album does not stop at its name, the BBC reports that the band held recording sessions in Spain and recently toured Latin America with both locations influencing their sound.
Meanwhile, Chris's other half, actress GWYNETH PALTROW has announced she is to take a break from the big screen to concentrate on her family.
Speaking at the Prince's Trust Awards, the Oscar winner said that she wants to be a full-time mum to Apple, three, and Moses, one, and won't be making another film until next autumn.
