ARTHUR PENN GETS HONORARY GOLDEN BEAR IN BERLIN
ARTHUR PENN received the honorary Golden Bear at the Berlin International Film Festival last night (15FEB07).
The BONNIE AND CLYDE filmmaker was presented with the award for his lifetime achievement by festival director DIETER KOSSLICK.
President of the festival jury, PAUL SCHRADER, held the honorific speech and praised the BONNIE + CLYDE director, 84, as the man who inspired the American cinema.
A visibly moved Penn said, "I can't accept the award without recognising the extraordinary actors I worked with over the years."
