ARMSTRONG REVIVES GREEN DAY SIDE PROJECT

GREEN DAY frontman BILLIE JOE ARMSTRONG has revived his popular side project band PINHEAD GUNPOWDER for a series of live dates in Los Angeles. The band haven't played a gig since 2001 but Armstrong reformed the rock quartet this week (beg04Feb08) for a quick tour of Californian venues. At the band's gig at the Troubadour in West Hollywood on Monday (04Feb08), Armstrong was pleased with the fans' reaction but urged them to put their digital cameras away - insisting they should just enjoy the moment. He told the crowd, "YouTube can't own everything. There's also something called memories." Armstrong formed the group in 1991, but his busy schedule with Green Day forced him to keep Pinhead Gunpowder as a part-time project.
