ARJONA PAYS OUT TO EX-WIFE

Grammy-winning Latin star RICARDO ARJONA has been ordered to pay $40,000 (GBP20,000) a month to his estranged wife Leslie Torres in their ongoing divorce battle. The Guatemalan singer and his Puerto Rican model wife filed for divorce in 2002. His spouse initially wanted to settle their court battle in Mexico, while Arjona wanted a U.S. judge to hear their case. Last week (ends08Jun07), a judge at the Family Court in Miami, Florda, ruled Arjona must pay child maintenance fees to Torres, who has custody of their two children, Adria, 15, and Ricardo, 13. Arjona, with his lawyer Marcia Elser, argued the former Miss Puerto Rico was asking for a high finanicial assistance because she wanted to maintain the lavish lifestyle he had provided for her. Arjona had accused Torres of being an unfit mother.
